9. Settings
Select Setup from the program selection menu to customise the basic device settings. To
change an option, first select it using the and keys. You can change the following
settings:
Battery Displays the current battery status. If the batteries are getting low, have a
new set ready so as to be able to work uninterrupted.
Memory Shows the current allocation of memory capacity for your own data. It
includes entries in the user dictionary, Memo etc.
Contrast
Controls the brightness of the display. Use resp. Set- to make the
display brighter and resp. Set+ to make it darker.
Password Here you can set up a password to protect your personal data in the
Memo or Phone function. You can change or delete the password later
but take care because you need to know the old password to do this. To
first set up a password highlight the option Password and then press
enter. You will then be asked to enter a password. Enter the new pass-
word again in order to confirm it. After confirmation the new password is
activated. To change or delete a password, first enter the old password.
Shut off Here you can determine the time after which the device will, on not being
used, switch off automatically. Using the keys you can choose a
shut off time of one, three or five minutes.
Key tone
Turns the key press tone on or off. Pressing key or off switches off the
key tone. Pressing key or on switches on the key tone.
Language
Specifies in which language messages are displayed. With or or
with the display keys you can choose German or English.
Device ID The individual device number of your Hexaglot Attaché appears here.
This is needed when you wish to buy supplementary dictionaries for your
Hexaglot Attaché. Have this number ready when you wish to order.
Once you have made all required changes, leave Setup by selecting another mode.
The settings made become effective immediately.
10. Help function
The Hexaglot Attaché has an extensive help function. In Help you can find not only notes on
using the device but also information on the general usage of the dictionary, the abbrevia-
tions given, phonetic script, grammar, important proper names and literary or musical
works
and much more. Press HELP to start the help function. You receive an overview of the Help
topics.
